Dear active members of the open European Senior Bowling Championships 2024,

On behalf of the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, I would like to warmly welcome you to the open European senior championships in 2024!

The “Active City Hamburg” is once again proud to host a major international bowling event. The fact that those responsible for hosting the open European Senior Bowling Championships in 2024 have chosen Hamburg is good news for our city. The award is also a sign of recognition and appreciation of our efforts to make a variety of sporting events possible for all age groups and to encourage urban society to do more sport and exercise in as many areas of life as possible.

After the German Championships 2019, the open European Championships are now bringing another major bowling event to our sports-loving city, where the sport of bowling is well established. Almost 400 organized players play for points in 35 clubs and 41 teams in the Hamburg bowling association.

I would like to thank the Hamburg Bowling Association for their extraordinary commitment in making this major sporting event possible. Sport brings different people together. And so I'm not only looking forward to great sport, but also to friendly encounters between people from different European countries.

I wish you all an exciting and successful week in sport and a wonderful stay in our lively Hanseatic city. Enjoy the time and the flair of Active City Hamburg.
